|05:05 pm - VM Truthiness|
So, the anonymous hate is at it again. Yes, the summer hiatus has brought about another round of "Let us say mean and nasty things about people we may or may not even know personally under the guise of anonymity!" I'm not going to point you in its direction; you can find it easily enough, I'm sure. The most hurtful part of it all is of course the implication that we're being attacked by people who are purportedly our friends, but what can you do?
But it is a well-documented fact that I prefer positivity to negativity, so welcome to the VM Fandom Love Meme. Why won't we let the bastards get us down? Because we rock. And we also take cash. And hire planes with that cash.
What do you REALLY think about VM fans? Here's the place to be delightfully honest. Go on, name names. It will give them warm fuzzies.
Current Mood: sad
Current Music: The Dresden Dolls - Blueprint (Live) [in my head]
I would like to take this opportunity to thank vm_truth
for giving me and slayervixen
a chance to mend our differences with each other.
Oops sorry for mentioning the name of the drama.
Woot! Love meme! Okay, here goes...
I love... my beta, queen_haq
, for always letting me bounce my hair-brained ideas off of her. :)
Is it hair-brained or hare-brained? Hair doesn't have brains! Let's ask Google.
The rabbit wins, 578,000 to 215,000!
I think VM fans are pretty damn classy to react the way they have to this failed experiment in hate. Why give in to the anonymity when you can politely ask to be defriended? I love it.
Nicely played, dudes & dudettes.
Yeah, I was actually pretty surprised at that, given the seemingly enormous popularity of the first one. Or latest one. Or, you know, the one with Kristen Bell's third cousin's dog.

i think i should be offended that i'm not bitchy enough for people to spout venom about me. i was so much cooler in the Buffy fandom. *giggle*
i ♥ my flist and none of you would be on it if i had crap like that to say. i'll never understand the appeal of anonymous commenters. isn't a screename anonymous enough? i mean, really.
If you really miss the cool, we can hop over the Beta, have a two sentence conversation about any one of a handful of people, and stir it all up, again. It's always there. Waiting.
I think VM fans are the greatest thing since sliced bread. If VM is the little train that could, then VM fans are the locomotive, baby.
Even the BNF are nice people, not just people you have to be nice to, because they're BNF. inigo
busts her little British fingers every week, to give us transcript. That's canon gold, people. Canon gold. spadada
? They're working their little butts off to save the show, and give people a creative outlet while doing so. But big name, little name, or in-between name, VM fans are just the best. hellopoe
's picspam speaks for itself (and often, for me). eirefaerie
's spec? Puts mine to shame, and she's funny, and so smart, to boot (okay, and I even loved her before, because she was a Bronzer). While I'm gushing, I should mention my first three VM online friends who weren't my friends from previous fandoms: magnolia888
. They're bright, upbeat, entertaining, generous with compliments and have great insight to the series, but aren't above squeeing, when a good, old fashioned squee is needed. And I should mention my old online friendships into which VM breathed new life--with great people like: carpedi7
and a whole lot more.
Then of course, there is you spectralbovine
pimp extraordinaire, and awesome speller and grammifier who, along with tiggz
and the countless other fans who worked me, turned me onto this show, because they knew it was great, and knew I would love it.
In short?Veronica Mars
fans are smarter than you.11 you = people who aren't Veronica Mars fans.
I love that my VM friends are so understanding and awesome about the fact that I've totally ditched them to write about SUPERNATURAL FANFIC.
*ducks tomatoes, tomahtoes, potatoes, potahtoes*
Duck this! *throws you a Dyson*
I love P-C and Agent Laura. I don't care what insecure bastards say about them. I mostly love VM fans, except for the jackasses. Them, I don't love.
I'm angry about this. People are fuckwads.
I think that VM fans, at least the ones that I talk to and have met are wonderful. We all seem to come together when we need to and I wouldn't change my experiences for anything. And as far as you go, I adore you and you are a great cuddler. :)
I love my AIM bitches because they're tres fabulous (and there's too many to name damnit!)
I love mutinousmuse
because she rocks my world and listens to me when I need to vent to someone. jaggedreality
is fabulous because she let me cop a feel and she's talented to boot!carminaburana
is my cyber bestfriend because we are LIKE THE SAME PEOPLE except we're completely different and she always calms me down and gives me fabulous ideas and I luuuuuvvveee her.
*hands Haq a drunk taco*
*throws love at VM fandom*
I drifted away from VM fandom last summer because I just couldn't keep up with it. Your posts make me wish I were more involved. :)
(And I'm amused that a certain anon LJ friended me, given that I barely talk about VM anymore. Go figure, huh?)
I wondered what that thing was doing on my 'friend of' list. I know I didn't put it there.
Well, what do I think? I don't really know people well enough to point out individuals, but in general I think it's a great group of people. :)
I just friended you, but only so I can then talk smack about you behind your back. I hear that's the cool thing to do these days!
it is a well-documented fact that I prefer positivity to negativity
You and me both. :)
Aw, that's an adorably clever icon.
I've probably said this many times before but I love VM fandom. It is the only fandom I know really, but my love for the VM fandom has at least as much to do with the fans rather than the dom. What I mean by that is that all of the VM fans that I've met, in person and/or online have been smart, interesting, funny people. On top of that they are unbelievably nice people, the ones that I've interacted with. They are supportive of each other and give each other encouragement on everything from romantic entanglements to carrer issues to medical problems and everything in between. I consider many of them good friends even some that I've never met in real life. Some that I've either intereacted with a lot online and/or have met in person and have only good things to sa about include: spectralbovine

VM fandom is awesome. Urbandictionary says so and ever since Urbandictionary defined "emo" as "(like) Goth, only much less dark and much more Harry Potter" I have decided that Urbandictionary is the last and only definite decider on all matters. The very essence of Truthiness.
Group hug, everyone!
Aw! I love you, para1
, you know I do. You know what they say, para1
is a marshmellow.
I feel like a cheater being included in any of this, because I don't think I've ever really participated heavily in VM fandom. GG fandom yes, VM no. I just post in the MM. I've barely ever set foot in another thread. My episode posts are mostly "OMG!! *flails*" not deep reflection and interpretation. I'm a crappy VM fan, I never remember half the clues we're supposed to remember.
I'm all about the socializing. And the people that I socialize with online are some of the nicest people ever. They're funny and sweet, and have supported me through hard times and been there to celebrate good times. All my peeps are the best...you know who you are (there're too many to list).
*hugs to everyone*
