|11:39 pm - Beam Me Up, Finale!|
Since I enjoyed Star Trek: The Original Reboot—is that what we're calling it? seriously?—so much, I got a hankering to watch Star Trek: The Original Series. Not the whole thing, but at least the classic, famous, important episodes. And then I discovered that they're all up on CBS.com!! (Hat tip to vonnie_k.) So using this helpful guide, maybe this list, and my pop-culture memory ("The Trouble with Tribbles"! "The Naked Time"! "Mirror, Mirror"!), I'm going to watch some TOS and see what all the fuss is about. If you have any suggestions for episodes I definitely ought to watch, let me know. I just watched "Where No Man Has Gone Been Before," and, man, that was so sixties! The sets and special effects! Spock has hilariously drawn eyebrows and funny ears! And thinks everything is logical or illogical! Kirk is really into humans and idealistic and shit! Sulu knows math because he's Asian! Scotty has a funny accent! There are fewer miniskirts than I was promised! Fisticuffs! Boy, they sure tackled some big philosophical questions in a really cheesy way.
But in a time of beginnings, there must always be endings! It's Finale Week!
