06:11 pm - The Fifth of Many Pimpings
Long-time readers may know that the original purpose for this journal, before it became my fandom journal, was to pimp Protein Angst. Well, after over four months of laziness, I tell you a story of why science is awesome. It involves potassium channels, T cells, and autoimmune disorders. And a surprise guest star.

Let the pimping commence!

hobviously has some great BSG icons, including a series I inspired with a screencap and a Shakespeare line.

the_royal_anna has a lovely post about Doctor Who and the relationship between the Doctor and Rose.

spectralbovine (hey, that's me!) has posted a metric fuckload of Canadian music at audiography, for those of you who missed it the first time.

valancy (a.k.a. Miss Fancy Valancy (tm starspentswell)) has a multifandom post with icon and fic recs. Warning, the post contains HPB SPOILERS, so if you haven't read the book, go directly to her journal and don't click the cut-tag.

persnicketiervm tells us about the time Kristen Bell sent her a birthday gift, complete with pictures.

matchboxslayer tells us about the time he met Kristen Bell and she didn't punch him in the face.

horsefacehannah would like to know, "What's the most violent PG/PG13 movie you can think of?"

wisteria_ has an updated Veronica Mars: A Love Letter.

In conclusion, Kevin Kline.

Hawksley does rule at life. I swear, any day now, I will start worshipping him.

I was supposed to go buy Sufjan Stevens' Illinois tonight, but couldn't find it anywhere. But both Hawksley's the delicious wolves and for him and the girls were on sale. 10.99$ each! Canadian, even. So, I picked them both up. I haven't listened to either of them yet, but soon.

Most Canadian musicians end up not courting the US. It's just too hard a challenge, I think. Well, except Matt Good. I think he actively goes about not pursuing the US.

Also, you post at Twop, right? I'm Anais over there. But I haven't been by in weeks. I should see about that. *waves*

Hey there! I think we've talked about Hawksley over on TWoP as well! Hah, I love Hawksley evangelists. You will want to worship him when you listen to the other two albums, I love them both so much. Particularly the songs "Paper Shoes" and "Lethal and Young." I've had them for a few years and I still listen to them regularly. I love the music so much which is different for me because I'm usually a lyrics girl.

I read on TWoP today (but didn't want to comment since it was off topic and I hope spectralbovine is a bit less strict about topic-ness in his LJ since I'm using up comment space here) that you also bought Sarah Slean's Night Bugs. I love that cd too, I hope you enjoy it.

*out of breath*

Hey, that's the one with "Sweet Ones" on it! One of our a cappela groups here does that song, and I like it.

Also, this post looks like it's destined to get its comments condensed anyway, so off-topic away.
