 | 11:43 pm - There May Be a Toad in Your Bass Guitar After another delightful dinner at Threehaus—chicken chili and cornbread—with Dan ( incidentist) and Gabby and Sarah and Jason, I was introduced to the most amazing Tim Curry performance of all time.
For some ungodly reason, in addition to owning Gummi Bears on DVD, Gabby owns The Worst Witch, a terrible made-for-TV movie adaptation of a book about a Hogwarts-esque witches' school. It looks like it was filmed in my backyard. The titular worst witch is played by Fairuza Balk, and the head witch is played by Diana Rigg. Yes, that Diana Rigg. I don't know how this movie exists. It was 1986. In any case, here comes Tim Curry as the Grand Wizard to star in the most awesomely bad Halloween music video ever.
The video does not include his subsequent departure because he has another...gig.
In exchange, I introduced them to "That'll give you bees." Current Mood: flirty Current Music: The Smashing Pumpkins - Doomsday Clock

Heh, I read the book that was based on in elementary school, and then was really excited to see that there was a movie on the Disney Channel! Then I watched said movie, and was less than excited. Even at age eight or nine, I knew just how insane that solo was. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/74508235/112758) | | | has anyone seen my tambourine? | (Link) |

Now that I've watched the video, I would like to comment that while the music is fairly catchy, the lyricist was on crack, as evidenced by the line "from London to Idaho." Er, "Tokyo," anyone? Three syllables, ends in -o, slightly more exotic than the potato state? ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/55733881/5913433) | | | Re: has anyone seen my tambourine? | (Link) |

Oh, there are several cracktastic lines. Also note that your teacher could turn into a sardine. I don't know how this movie exists. It was 1986. Asked and answered. "It was 1986" explains much. :-) ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/55943966/11283789) | From: | lembeau |

Oh, Tim Curry! LOL! I didn't know The Worst Witch was a movie first! I used to watch the tv series with my cousins when I had to babysit them. Hey, Fairuza Balk was the main character? Maybe her character left the school, went insane and became the psychopath in The Craft. That thought amuses me greatly. Lol, that story! I sometimes wonder how I would react if I ever came across a celebrity that I really liked. I hope that if it sucks I get a awesome phrase like that out of it. :O) I didn't even know there was a TV series! oh my gosh I watched The Worst Witch years ago
more like "my mom put it on because it was kid-friendly and looked interesting to her and I could do nothing but watch" ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/74052493/12821194) | From: | jenepel |

I LOVE THE WORST WITCH. That movie was one of my all time favourites as a kid - so much so that I too own that DVD, because when I saw it existed I had to have it. I would watch it over and over as a kid. Re-watching it as an adult, I realise it is a bit insane (but then so is Labyrinth). I had the books too, but I never saw the TV series. And definitely, the first time I read Harry Potter, The Worst Witch came immediately to mind.

The Worst Witch is amazing! I loved it when I was 8 and it first came out. Man, I had never heard of this damn thing before. My whole family loved that movie when we were kids. Now I want to watch it. I'd never heard of it until Neil Gaiman embedded a clip in his journal on Halloween a few years ago. His daughter Holly loved it as a child. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/104977914/8135991) | From: | maka2000 |

As he would say: oh absolutely. What I love about this clip is how he commits to the crappiness, thus transcending it with his TimCurry-ness. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/104977914/8135991) | From: | maka2000 |

So true. His TimCurry-ness makes it so he can rise above - er - giant pink cloaks and bat bow ties. His vocals are actually creepy and weird, which is AWEsomeness! ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/98830004/564389) | From: | sterope |

That was insanely awesome. Huge fan of the movie 'The Worst Witch'. I had no idea there was a series and I am busily rounding up episodes from Netflix.
That clip of Tim Curry is so fun and deranged. o.m.g. i used to LOVE that movie. prior to hocus pocus, of course.
and chicken chili sounds amazing. |
