|10:43 pm - I Guess Even a Weird Dude Like You Can Have a Friend|
Attention, all fans of Chuck and The Sarah Connor Chronicles! I am going to be representing RTVW Online at WonderCon this year. Which gets me into the press room! Two of my favorite shows are having panels on Sunday, and I will get to be in a little room with a bunch of other journalists/bloggers asking the panelists questions!
So if you're a Chuck fan with a question for Josh Schwartz, Chris Fedak, Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin, or Joshua Gomez or a Sarah Connor Chronicles fan with a question for Josh Friedman, Summer Glau, or Shirley Manson, let me know! I'll come with my own questions, but it's good to have backups.
You know, I love the friendship between Chuck and Morgan on principle, but...I'm still not quite sure I get it. There seems to be a lot more tell than show. I like Morgan more than I used to, but he's still...Morgan.
Yet, I marvel at the inventiveness of this show. When it first premiered, it seemed like it would get old fast, but I think it's managed to remain fresh and entertaining, despite how much it stretches the limits of plausibility.
Most Awesome exchange of the night:
"Have you ever had a dream that didn't come true?"
The Amazing Heroes
Uh, this was no "Company Man." And it was kind of stupid. The episode begins with "Man, there's no way I can just get inside his head! He's too powerful!" And then...he just gets inside his head. Even after he's not drugged anymore. He just concentrates a lot and makes the camera skip and boom, black-and-white. So...okay.
What did we learn? IT WAS NATHAN'S IDEA OMG!! Uh...I thought we already knew that. I thought EVERYONE knew that. I thought it was OBVIOUS. Why are they surprised at all? BENNET HELPED COOK UP THE PLAN! Okay, that's a little new but not too surprising. BENNET TOLD MOHINDER!!! All right, that was interesting. Also interesting is everyone's conclusion that Zeljko is in fact running the operation at this point. Except that there have been SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES for someone to tell him that Nathan has powers. It's fucking annoying.
The best part, of course, is that Bennet is TOTALLY PLAYING EVERYBODY THANK GOD, and he's formed some sort of unholy partnership with Angela Petrelli? I don't know how or why that works, but whatever, maybe it's a really cool watch that shoots lasers or something.
Mostly, however, the episode was MATT FLIPPING THE FUCK OUT GEEZ. And Peter flying around. And Mohinder saying stuff. I don't know why it felt dumb and weird, but they felt like versions of the characters just for this episode.
ALSO OH YEAH DAPHNE IS ALIVE WOOOOOOOOOOOOO. GO AND SAVE HER YOU GOONS. I NEED MY CUTE SPEEDSTER CHICK BACK.

If Zachary Levi ever stops talking, ask him why he won't take his shirt off on Chuck.
I'm week behind on TV, so I'm trying really, really hard to not read the words in front of my eyes.
I can't think of questions right now, but I'll probably be at both panels most likely! Felicia Day will also be at the Browncoats booth on Saturday, but it doesn't say what time, so I'm not sure if she'll be there after Watchmen..congrats on the consulting gig! Hee.
I'm still waiting for the damn Felicia Day times! I heard something like 12 and 4 a few weeks ago, but that wasn't official. I must attempt not to melt into a puddle of goo around her.
As long as you avoid any your hammer is your penis references, I think you should be good! :) Hopefully she'll blog about the specific times soon!
Felicia just confirmed the 12 and 4 times. Those are not the most convenient times for me! I will deal, however.
Yeah, if the lines are long, that will be a pain as it's right after Watchmen and right before Terminator: Salvation...I guess right after Watchmen makes the most sense...
Well, it's in the middle of Watchmen. So I guess I'll see if she's still there at 12:30.
Fuck a duck..I thought Watchmen was 11am - 12pm, not 11:30am - 12:30pm..damn..
Daphne is back? Wooo.
Even so, I think I'm done with the show until Bryan comes back.

Aw, that is so exciting - have fun!
Ask Zachary to make the "I'm flashing" face, and take a pic. I bet it looks really funny out-of-context and when it's not a zoomed-in close-up mixed with lots of images. I wonder if they told him exactly what face to make, or if he came up with it on his own.
HOMG, you are too lucky for words! I am a big fan of Chuck. Um... well, there's the obvious: ask Adam Baldwin who would win in a fight, Jayne or Casey. (I know that is incredibly stupid. I don't care.)
In general, I am just taken with the cute little geek touches on the show like, last night, the little fort made out of boxes. I suppose I'd ask is it actually REQUIRED to be a massive geek to write for the show, or is it just a bonus? Or do they just have one guy whose whole job is to drop in little touches like that?
Hee! Yeah, I do want to ask about the geekiness.
I do have an SCC question! Perhaps this has been answered elsewhere, but I've never seen it:
On the S1 DVD commentary, they talk about how they had this big high school story planned for John and the quiet blonde girl (her name escapes me). What was the story going to be? Why did that other girl kill herself? (My guess is she was schtupping the guidance counsellor.)
IIRC, they said they had filmed the storyline, but the scenes annoyingly weren't included on the DVD. I have always wondered what the story would have been.
Have an awesome time at the con!
I think that's a popular question! I'm sure it'll be asked. I wonder if he's answered it somewhere before.
Lucky you! If I think of a question, I'll be sure to let you know.
Yeah, I don't get Morgan, either. But I get the other Buy More guys even less, so...
heck the only questions I can think of would all involve thinly veiled attmpts to hit on Yvonne Strahovski...
So I shall just express my approval, congrats, and wish you luck in your journalistic misssion! :)
How cool for you!! How did that occur? Let us know when your reports over there go up, of course!
Oh, man. Well my stupid question for Zachary Levi and Adam Baldwin would be "HOW COME U SO SEXY?" but I don't think you should necessarily ask them that. *g*
And I'd like to ask if poor Chuck is ever going to get a love interest, but I get the feeling the answer is either a) it will be Sarah and they can't tell us that; or b) no, because the dynamic of the show would be thrown off by some civilian who knows his secret or whatever. So it's probably not a great question. *sigh* I like Chuck and Sarah, but their wooby-ing is getting a little old. And I feel bad for poor Chuck.
Um, real questions...how about are we going to get any more cool Casey-related backstories, and/or how do they feel about doing more Casey-trying-to-fit-in-at-Buy-More snippets - because Casey in retail is HILARIOUS. (Like that online snippet where he clocks the guy with the apple? Priceless.)
And now, go forth and asketh questions! And bringeth me the hand of Zachary Levi in marriage! Or at least a good photo or two. (Seriously, he's so adorable. And a gamer! And a nerd! And...I'll stop now.)
