|12:50 pm - The Finest Taste Strikes Back|
It's been over a year since I last did the Guess the Song Lyrics meme, and it's one I enjoy, and it's Friday, so here we go. Songs are taken off Smellerbee, and I am not repeating artists. Or using songs with the title in the first line. Or songs without lyrics online to confirm. Except that one. Like before, I was kind of arbitrary. And I spiced them up with punctuation. Let's see what comes up today.
It's happening all the time when I open my eyes, I'm still taken by surprise Eisley, "Brightly Wound"—latropita
Clock is ticking while I'm killing time, spinning all around—nothing else that you can do to turn it back Lacuna Coil, "Our Truth"—ahtrap
Meet me here on November 11th, come alone Incubus, "A Kiss to Send Us Off"—jeeperstseepers
I fancy you but I've been destitute, and all I know dissolved: I can never re-undo you The Distillers, "Dismantle Me"—super_hoodzie_x
5. Bound to your side and trapped in silence, just a possession
6. You sit and watch, but you won't go. You say you do, but you don't know.
7. Reach me, come closer, running back home: tell me your sorrow now that I've gone
I got my head but my head is unraveling Nine Inch Nails, "The Perfect Drug"—evilstmars
9. I want your silent parts, the parts the birds love—I know there's such a place
It's bugging me, grating me, and twisting me around Muse, "Hysteria"—hellopoe
I can't undo the day: it won't go, won't go under the rug Elbow, "Stops"—jeeperstseepers
Biting keeps your words at bay, tending to the sores that stay The Dresden Dolls, "Bad Habit"—super_hoodzie_x
13. I was gazing in your eyes, seeing butterflies melting on the wall
14. It's true, we're all a little insane, but it's so clear now that I am unchained
We're rotten fruit, we're damaged goods: what the hell, we've got nothing more to lose Radiohead, "Backdrifts (Honeymoon Is Over)"—sainfoin_fields
You're made of my rib, oh baby, you're made of my sin VAST, "Pretty When You Cry"—ashfae
He saw the operation you tried to pull today, but your humiliation means he still votes nay Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, "Bad Horse (Reprise)"—hellopoe
18. And the little boy stared into the eyes of the night: button collects price of his time
19. Replacing old dreams with flattery from new loves, a hurricane self-help into this evacuation from this
I'm on it, get on it, the troops are on fire Kasabian, "L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)"—infinitemonkeys, jeeperstseepers
21. Wait, there is too much on my mind. Are we here just to simply pass the time?
22. Have faith, have faith in the blue lady
You wait up for me, I don't wake up for you: would you like the company or are you sick of me? Tegan and Sara, "Speak Slow"—evilstmars
24. The surface is transparent, stranger here in me, filter through like sun
A heart of gold but it lost its pride, beautiful veins and bloodshot eyes Foo Fighters, "Let It Die"—porpentine
Current Mood: listless
Current Music: Tsunami Bomb - Simple Truth, The
I'm fairly rubbish at these but I am certain that 20 is LSF by Kasabian
15 is Backdrifts by Radiohead. Sadly I cannot remember all the parenthetical titular asides.
Correct! The parenthetical titular aside is "(Honeymoon Is Over)."
3 is "Kiss to Send Us Off," Incubus
11 is "Stops," Elbow
20 is "L.S.F.," Kasabian
I feel like I know 16, but I can't place it. I just don't pay enough conscious attention to lyrics to do well at this sort of thing.
You DEFINITELY know 16. Definitely definitely. I thought of you when it came up.
Do I know 23 also? It's driving my crazy. I feel like it's another song that I know but never knew the actual lyrics for.
I don't think you know 23, no. At least, it's not one I expected you to know.
25. Foo Fighters, "Let It Die"
Yep! That song is awesome.
Now guess all the others. Man, people were more guess-y last year.
Man, I don't recognize any of these. FAILURE.
8 is NIN, "Perfect Drug". 23 is Tegan and Sara, "Speak Slow".
12 is Bad Habit by The Dresden Dolls

16 is VAST "Pretty When You Cry", but I think it's oh baby rather than or baby...
I don't recognize any of the unguessed ones, sadly, so I'm mostly commenting to say, how would you recommend one go about acquiring the Dr. Horrible soundtrack? All my usual sources are coming up empty.
I got it from my flist, and the posts are flocked, I think, so...I don't know! Unless they've appeared on filesharing networks. Sorry.

#2 is Lacuna Coil.....our truth, maybe? pretty sure it's on Karmacode, but I can never remember the song titles off that disc...
I'm pretty sure she sings #5, too, but I can't mentally place it on any LC cd....so I'm gonna guess it's on the Half-life disc, because I don't have that one....
And you're right on #5. She's singing, but not for Lacuna Coil.
