10:45 pm - The Agony and the Irony, They're Killing Me, Whoa!
So there appears to be this thing called The LiveJournal Awards, except it's really more The Awards for _allshallfade and indilime's Circle of a Thousand Friends, since they're the ones who mostly know about it and care enough to vote.

There was a category for Biggest Veronica Mars Fan.

And I did not win it. indilime won with a landslide 12 votes. It was slightly humbling. I'm not that famous on the Internet.

But thanks to tiggz, dachelle, aprilbegins, and an anonymouse, I was second place!! Woooo!!!

Hold on, it gets better.

Because thanks to four anonyrats, I tied with grave_watchers.

Between this and Keckler's Jericho piece, I've had a lot of hardcore, can't-stop laughter tonight.

Hee. That's a bit like the time I won third place for most original costume in a contest... but had to split the prize with the other two 'original gypsies.

Dude, had I known about that, I so would have voted for you, and then you wouldn't have been tied.

Hilarious, but still.

Dude, I'm glad I tied. It's way funnier than BEATING the gravies.

If it helps, I don't think I've ever heard of either _allshallfade or indilime. You are way more famous to me. If I'd known about this thing, I would have voted for you, and so would several of my fictional friends.

You tied with the gravies? Hee! They are pretty big Veronica Mars fans. I mean look at all the time and energy they've spent discussing the show. They can't let it go.

Keckler's Jericho thing was the best thing to come out of any fandom in months.

I've heard of indilime and visited her journal a couple times.

But I think tying with the gravies is way funnier than winning, since CLEARLY none of the regular voters even know who I am and wouldn't even be impressed.

Keckler's Jericho thing was nutty in the best way.

Hee - so did you have your gracious losers face on at the awards? And who were you wearing?

Um. . . . congratulations? Hee!

Should I shed a tear that after 64 transcripts, I don't even merit a mention?

Nah.

Who cares if you didn't win? indilime didn't get to go on the set and hang out with the cast and crew for two day. That's way cooler than winning some online award. Had I known about these awards, I would have totally voted for you.

I don't really care that I didn't win. It's not a big deal; I know that if more people I knew knew about it, I would have "won," but whatever. Tying with the gravies makes up for it, because that's just funny.

I like silver better than gold anyways!

I did not know who 2/3 of the people who won those awards are. I'm so out of touch with the wider LJ fandom. Also, I'm still upset there was no "Best Rubbish Writer of AU Libertines RPS" category. I would have pwned. PWNED, I tell you!

I don't know who most of those people are either! It's crazy! There are ALL THESE PEOPLE on LJ having their crazy LJ lives who are off in their little worlds that we never see. It's like REAL LIFE ONLY ONLINE.

And you would have definitely pwned that category!

It's weird! I don't like real life! It's scary!

I totally would have. We should have our own LJ awards, with completely random categories. Our awards would be so much awesomer.

I read indilime and you are definitely a bigger VM fan than she is. I only got a chance to vote for a few awards b/c my computer was being wonky and I never got to finish. :( Otherwise you'd have my vote too. But, yeah, the awards are very much for a certain group of people, not LJ-wide certainly.

The LJ awards are not for everyone. It's obvious. It's pimped to hell by the people who usually win (because they have the 8 million friends) and that's still a small number of fandom-ers. So, don't fret.

Besides, I know who is the #1 VM fan. You did watch Season 3, haha. It would mean a lot if the REAL #1 VM fan told me if these icons sucked!

And in other news: Do you like Jericho?

I quit after four or five episodes because it was so boring and dumb, but I heard it got better after the hiatus. And, in fact, I did see an episode at Wondercon, and it was much improved. I also watched the finale because the producer there said we would learn who dropped the bombs, except...we didn't. At least Heather lives! My pretty schoolteacher! It looks like it turned into a decent show.

Yeeeeah, that was the Fox News of online award shows from the get-go. You couldn't win with bias like that against you, buddy.

But lol that you tied with GW.

Keckler rules. For the killer finish obviously, but also for this awesome line in the middle: "Last night, my wife said she could smell them on me. I had to take three scalding showers before I felt clean. Then she told me I smelled roasted." Heh. Yummy.

It was funny at points. But Keckler really made a piece of writing out of his extra while Miss Alli's is just filler.

Not that it was a competition, but Keckler FTW!

Aw, Sunil. If I'd known about it I would have voted for you! See, your problem is not that you are not famous (because you are) but that your loser friend Emily doesn't hang out with the cool kids who do internet awards, and therefore misses the vote. Heh.

I think I should do an awards thing for MY friends only. You'd totally win something.

Because the show is deader than Spike, and no amount of candy is going to change that. Dawn Ostroff is well aware that the show has a rabid fanbase. That has not translated into good ratings in THREE YEARS. The cast and crew and writers have all moved on, and after June 15, we can, too.
