01:57 am - Is It His Quest for Glory?
I just put together a computer desk ALL BY MYSELF. I used TOOLS like an "Allen wrench," a "wrench," and a "screwdriver." I lay on my back without a shirt on and screwed. I deduced that I had inadvertently put the drawer together backward and fixed my error efficiently. I drank a glass of limeade.

It took me three-and-a-half hours.

I feel like such a MAN.

Okay, a real man wouldn't have meticulously followed the instructions.

No, Virgo Mans are totally allowed to follow instructions.

I wish I had a Lee Adama icon with which to punctuate this sentiment. Please enjoy his...shoulder.

You made a C.M. Kornbluth reference, which means that you gain +50 instant geek points. 200 and you level up.

I...did? I have no idea who that is. I was making an Orgazmo reference, despite never having seen the movie and only heard "Man Song" multiple times.

"I lay on my back without a shirt on and screwed."

I think I'm feeling kind of hot. Hee!

Uh oh - I'm totally wearing the wrong icon. Um . . . try not to mind the very gay Ryan/Sharpei duet accompanying this post.

Is it wrong that I find this absolutely hysterical?

I love putting furniture and things together. That's the best part about going to Ikea.

Yay, Ikea! I just put together two Lack side tables and a Poang chair last night. They go with my Lack coffee table and TV stand, and my Mikael desk.

I recently told my Dad that I love ready-to-assemble furniture so much because I'm a frustrated remodeler who lives in a rental and can't build anything but furniture.

What an impressive accomplishment. If I weren't in a different part of the state, I'd squee in person over your handy work.

That's a complicated looking desk, so I won't mock you for the 3.5 hours part. It's fun to assemble furniture, isn't it? Like grown up Legos!

^ You should have this icon.

Okay, a real man wouldn't have meticulously followed the instructions.

At least among my friends, we gals always prefer a guy who does things right. :D

It's probably a good thing I'm married. I don't think I could afford the plane ticket out there to ogle. ;)

Aaahh!!! I think that would be false advertising.

Dude, hang on to that Allen wrench. Each piece of box furniture has its own magical Allen wrench, and they are never the same size, and one day you'll want it to take the desk apart or something, and it will be tragic if the Allen wrench is no longer there. You will eventually have to borrow one from your neighbor's pothead brother. I speak from experience.
Of course, considering how manly you are, you could probably just rip the desk apart with your awesome muscles, but then you wouldn't be able to put it back together anywhere else.

Man, I was thinking that I would never want to take this damn thing apart because I sure as hell didn't want to put it back together again.

I did save the Allen wrench, though.

Officially impressed. Can you please come and fix my dryer?

Oh -- and spadada tells me you're the man to see about my perplexing, migraine-inducing Battlestar Galactica questions. I just finished "Downloaded" and am afraid to watch the finale, for fear or my brain shooting out of my ear and hitting someone next to me in the face.

Okay, a real man wouldn't have meticulously followed the instructions.

The Real Man(tm) would have put it together crooked, shoved War and Peace under one leg to balance it out, drunk beer instead of limeade, and used a drill driver instead of a mere screwdriver. For extra man points, a sledgehammer would have been involved. Possibly also fire.

A Virgo, are you? Yeah, you're allowed to meticulously follow the instructions, even as a Man. You have to - it's in the Virgo Charter, as I understand it.

That looks like a nice desk. I really want a different one than what I have since my current desk is not specifically intended for a computer. I need a keyboard drawer!
