06:57 pm - Cheesy Chicken Enchilada
This Saturday, I'm flying out to the Bay Area for two weeks (March 4 - March 18) in order to learn the medical writing ropes and such so that I can better work remotely as I prepare to move in April, assuming I find a subletter. That was a long sentence. Basically, if anyone has anything cool planned (Oscars viewing party? BSG finale viewing party? VM return viewing party? Anyone?), please invite me. Especially the Oscars, because I don't want to have to deal with my homophobic uncle groaning when Brokeback Mountain starts winning stuff.

Really, this post is an excuse for the following poll. I am easily amused, as you well know.

Poll #682888 Rob Does Not Have a Large Vocabulary

When I told Rob I got a job, he was:

thrilled
23(24.5%)
jazzed
52(55.3%)
Duncan is good! Logan is bad!
19(20.2%)

Current Mood: hungryhungry
Current Music: Rilo Kiley - A Man/Me/Then Jim

(42 memoirs | Describe me as "inscrutable")

So, what did Rob say? Other then "Duncan is good! Logan is bad!"?

The correct answer is: "That is great news. Congratulations. I'm thrilled for you."

I would offer to arrange something except that my TV is small, I don't have cable, and have limited seating. But welcome to California!

If you have any interest in venturing down south to LA for a day, we're having a Doctor Who viewing party on the 17th, when the new series premieres on Sci-Fi.

It's not the new series; it's the old series. The new series doesn't premiere until April, I don't think. On the BBC.

Also, isn't L.A. a bit of a drive? I am working that day, and I fly out the next morning, so I won't be able to do that. But I definitely plan to make it down there eventually, once I'm settled over there.

I had to choose jazzed. But you knew I would... Yay for you again, BTW. I'm thrilled and jazzed ;)

Heh. Well, if I get the job in Ann Arbor, I'll just sublet your place. Then *maybe* will get to meet each other. ;)

First, congratulations to you! Second, I really can't see Rob saying "jazzed", but that's what I voted for anyway because it's a fun word.

It's the dude's favorite word normally. Seriously. (And someone he pulls it off.)

I'll be around - if you's like to cash in on one of your free burritos, drop me a line.

My guess is that you'll find a more party-ish VM viewing party than my house, but you know you're welcome here as well.

Well, Consonance is this weekend. I don't remember when cadhla's doing her concert, but last I knew she said she thought she'd be able to sing again by this weekend.

Some of us at Rockridge will be watching the Oscars -- you're welcome to come. However, a lot of them have said, "I don't watch the Oscars, but Jon Stewart is definitely interest-piquing", so we may very well talk over all the movie stuff. On the other hand, we're positively homophilic. And we throw a good party.

I'm now in the Bay area, so boooo! I don't get to meet you!

But in other news: yay! You have a job! And Rob Thomas is thrilled! Even though I chose the last choice, because it is hilarious.
