01:09 am - But Unfortunately for You, You're Still Made of Meat
In the spirit of this post, I feel it necessary to document the fact that, despite their absence on Leap Day, Jess has now fed me frog's legs.

They do, indeed, taste like chicken.

Also, I had a rainbow cupcake.

Without my contacts, I totally read this post as: I feel it necessary to document the fact that, despite their absence on Leap Day, Jesus has now fed me frog's legs. And that is really quite an endorsement of frog's legs, I think.

Heeeeee.

I don't understand why they're such a delicacy. It's not like they taste heavenly or anything.

It's because the French got bored one day and decided to play a trick on hapless proto-foodies years ago, if you ask me. I have a similar opinion on snails and oysters.

Oysters are salty and taste like ocean!

Exactly! That's what makes them so good! But unlike frog legs, I didn't like oysters at first. My initial reaction was slimy, salty, fishy, ew. But somehow now I just adore them.

It's always a bit of a let-down when an "exotic" meat really does taste like chicken! That and exotic fruits tasting a bit like fruit salad!

I love frog legs, and I don't think they taste like chicken (and I also haven't really gotten the impression that they're considered a delicacy--just that they're considered food). Well, they taste chicken-y, but I think there's a subtle slightly seafood-y taste, too, that makes them different. And awesome. Mmm, frog legs.

Well, these legs were covered in BBQ sauce, so any subtleties would have been lost.

Ah. I'm used to frog legs being made with a buttery, garlicy sauce.

I'm ignoring the first part of this post, as aquatic life freaks me out.

I want a rainbow cupcake! Those look like a lot of work.

You didn't watch the Muppet Movie as a child, did you?

No, why? Would I feel bad for eating Kermit?

I can't tell if that cupcake looks delicious or disgusting, but either way it looks like you're eating play-doh.

I no longer believe that chicken tastes like much of anything. I'd try a frog leg, though, even though I don't eat meat these days, because I think it's important to know what you're passing up. In this spirit I've recently had bites of duck and wild boar meatball. They were okay.

I would also eat a rainbow cupcake. Mmmm.

Where did the rainbow cupcake come from? It's so cool! I've never seen them, but I don't think we really have the cupcake revolution over here like in the States. Now I really really want to try making them though. Did it taste of food colouring at all or was the taste normal?

She made it herself! She used a vanilla recipe, so it tasted like a regular cupcake. I was all sugared out by that point, though, so my taste buds were overloaded and I couldn't really taste it properly.
