|09:48 pm - Why You'd Want to Visit Here|
This is either going to make things much easier or infinitely more complicated:
I will be in Los Angeles from December 29 through January 2. That's right, I'll be ringin' in the new year L.A.-style...if I find something fun to do on New Year's Eve. Is there anything interesting to do on New Year's in L.A.? One would think. I demand at least one awkward celebrity encounter. ("My, George Clooney, what are you doing at a McDonald's at this hour?")
Will you be in town? Leave a comment.
Do you want to see/hang out with/eat food with/kick/make out with me? Leave a comment.
Do you have suggestions on what I should do? Leave a comment.
Do you want to drive me places? Leave a comment.
Can I crash on your couch/recliner/bed/floor/lap? Leave a comment.
Have you been wanting to delurk and say hi? Leave a comment.

what if I want to make out with you, but won't be in LA?
Then I am very sad, and I will punch this Venn diagram in the face.
I know! Curse you, France!

I will be in town, though I have sometime to do on New Year's Eve itself to which I can not really invite other people.
I /might/ still be able to get Rose Parade tickets to the seats at my church, though.
And I'd happily meet up with you some other time during your visit. I could even drive you places.
Oooh. Is the Rose Parade cool?

PS: Just finished first episode of Dexter. I'll, uh, think about what I think of it and post something tomorrow probably.
Yes, you do wanna post.
YOU REALLY, REALLY DO.

Spads was talking about you tonight. Heh.
I won't be in town until the 1st, but if you're up for some other interesting food adventures, I am game.

I'm in the area so I'm always up for hanging out even though you don't really know me. Yay LA!
Hey! I'd be up for hanging out with you too!
I will be in town, since I live here. I do want to see/etc you! (If you want to see/etc me.)
I can take you to all sorts of cool places, in my cool Honda Civic hybrid. I don't have a ton of crash space, but if you got totally desperate and it was that or a skeevy hotel, I could probably borrow a futon.
Also, I would really like to do something on New Year's Eve, so I will be watching the comments hopefully for suggestions.
Hey! I do want to see/etc you! And ride in your hybrid!
And New Year's Eve is one night I still have no place to crash, so sharing NYE plans may work out futonistically.
I feel like the Jack Kerouac of L.A. Hopping from one domicile to the next.
Hi, random LA peeps! (And Sunil.)
Alas, the hubby and I are trogLAdytes, but will be in Midland, MI during your stint in LA. Catch you next time?
I went from "Oh! Right! Right! Heidi!" to "GODDAMMIT!"
Hello. I enjoy reading your comments on Dexter. Can't wait for next Sunday, or technically Monday morning when I will be borrowing it from mininova. Stay strong and stay spoiler free!
I could answer yes to most of those things, but I won't be in LA. And I could tell you to hang out with thumbprint
, who lives there and is awesome, but she'll be here, hanging out with me.
So obviously you've chosen the wrong destination, is what I'm saying.
But go to the La Brea Tar Pits. They freaked me the hell out as a kid.
I'll confess and de-lurk; I've seen your comments in news
before, and was linked to your earlier LJ party post from a friend's journal. I noticed right away that your mood theme was Avatar, and realized that we might have a few communities in common and that I may have seen you somewhere other than news
, given the fandom. I promise I'm not a crazy fangirl (really!), it just happens that my husband and I started watching Avatar with our son (who's 5 and knows more about the show than we do) and now we're all totally hooked. Anyway, I wanted to say hi and ask whether you mind if I add you to my F-list--maybe then I'll stop lurking and of course, you're welcome to add me too. As for New Year's in L.A., I lived near the area for two years while in college, and never had a random celebrity spotting, so I hope you have better luck than I did. Going to the Rose Parade sounds like a great idea, though. Good luck! :)
Hi! Thanks for delurking. I don't mind at all if you friend me. Nice to meet you.
As for random celebrity spottings, I seem to have pretty good luck with these things.
Did you ever go to the Rose Parade? I don't know what it's like.

Well, I was planning on being out there UNTIL the 29th and then coming home (I'm not kidding) but when are you arriving? I'm driving so I'll have some wiggle room.
See, the issue is that I'll actually be there a couple days before or so, but I'll be with my family. They're leaving on the 29th, presumably in the morning. I'll be based in the Redlands at the time.

Why LA for so long?
The beach. I was usually drunk on the beach at NYE. It's rather fabulous, if cold, especially if you brave the water. Course, I was always at the beach and usually drunk.
I'm there killing time between a family vacation and a wedding.
